Description
PEKK was invented in the 1960s as part of the Apollo program. It was then developed and marketed by Dupont in 1988 for the aerospace field. PEKK is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic in the PAEK family of polymers, commonly used in extreme operating environments. It has similar performance as PEEK which has excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are retained to high temperatures. The only different characteristic from PEEK is the lower rate and degree of crystalline. Due to this characteristic, it is prone to print parts with higher-strength Z-axis than typical PEEK. It is often used in demanding applications such as aerospace, satellites, submarines, automotive, medical, and oil & gas industries.
IEMAI 3D high performance PEKK filament in diameter 1.75 mm is based on FFF/FDM technology with excellent layer adhesion. Thus, able to improve the strength and impact resistance of prototypes.
